On Iterative Receivers for Non-Coherent Channels

چکیده
It is well-known that optimal receivers for many wireless communication systems employ joint channel estimation and decoding. Since this is almost always too computationally complex, we consider iterative receivers that approximate joint estimation and decoding by iterative algorithms. Continuous-valued variables such as the channel phase response are often difficult to handle in these algorithms. We present a systematic approach, canonical distributions, for solving this problem and apply it to the design of iterative receivers for block non-coherent Rayleigh fading channels.

Iterative Decoding for Differential Mimo Systems with Near- Coherent Performance
In this paper we develop multiple antenna space-time decoding techniques that enable very high capacities in mobile wireless systems. The method can be implemented in small form factor handheld software defined radios. We derive a low-complexity iterative decoding scheme based on diagonal or Cayley differential encoders for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) flat-fading channels. We show that our ...

Performance limits of information transfer over a discrete time memoryless Rayleigh fading channel with neither the receiver nor the transmitter knowing the fading coefficients except its statistics is an important problem in information theory. We derive closed form expressions for the mutual information of single input single output (SISO) and multiple input multiple output (MIMO) Rayleigh fa...
متن کاملIterative Implementations of Linear Receivers for Spatial Diverstity Channels
We investigate iterative implementations of linear receivers for spatial diversity channels. This work has been motivated by recent results concerning iterative implementations of linear multiuser receivers, under the assumption of long random sequences. We explore implementation issues for such iterative methods for f inite system dimensions. We consider the Chebyshev iteration using estimates...
متن کاملIterative multiuser detection for convolutionally encoded CDMA with differential modulation
This paper explores the use of differential modulation as a rate-1 recursive code to improve performance in an iterative (or turbo) CDMA receiver in a convolutionally encoded system. We would expect an interleaver gain from the recursive nature of the differential encoder, and indeed such a gain over an absolutely encoded CDMA system is easily demonstrated through simulations. The iterative rec...
